"The most uneven distribution of land ownership anywhere in the western world."

The following article featuring community land buyouts and Buccleuch was published on The Scotsman yesterday:

"Around 50 per cent of Scotland belongs to 432 owners, perhaps painting the picture of the most uneven distribution of land ownership anywhere in the western world.

WANLOCKHEAD COMMUNITY TRUST

FEASIBILITY STUDY - PUBLIC CONSULTATION

MONDAY 28th AUGUST 2017 - COMMUNITY CENTRE

DROP IN ANYTIME BETWEEN 4PM - 8PM

Since the first public consultation in January 2016, Wanlockhead Community Trust has been exploring the potential of community land ownership in the village and surrounding area. Grant funding from the Scottish Land Fund has enabled the appointment of URBAN ANIMATION with a remit to produce a report showing how community land ownership could benefit the people living and working in Wanlockhead. The first stage of the Feasibility Study is complete and they are ready for the next stage, which is further consultation with our community.

Your input is important, come and have your say. Please come to the public Drop In on Monday 28th August in the Community Centre, anytime between 4pm and 8pm and tell us what you think about Wanlockhead’s future. The team of consultants will be available to hear your views and answer your questions.
